Crab-DownYou’ve heard of a pose down, now it’s time for the first-ever Crab-Down!
In honor of our fallen brother John Yobst, we are offering a division dedicated to him and his favorite pose, the Crab Most Muscular. John was the coach of Team Lean, OCB Head Judge, veteran bodybuilder, and a good friend. If you’ve ever been to a New England Bodybuilding show, he was the loud guy!
The class will be run similar to prejudging, but only the Crab Most Muscular pose will be utilized, followed by a Crab Pose Down to music. Classic Physique competitors and Bodybuilders can both enter. Placements 1–5.
Contact the promoter to enter the Crab-Down.
DEBUT ELIGIBILITY: First competition ever. Competitors cannot have ever competed in any category with any organization.
NOVICE ELIGIBILITY: Cannot have placed first in any class (besides Teen), within any division, within any category, with any organization, except in cases where first place was won in a class that had only one competitor.
When more than one class exists in a division, classes are formed by dividing competitors evenly by height. These divisions will be determined after all registration entries have been received.
A roster with assigned competitor numbers and class breakdowns will be emailed to competitors approximately one week before the show. This information will not be available until after all of the registrations are in and the promoter has had time to sort the classes.
A crossover entry is entering more than one division within a category. For example, someone may enter the Novice division, if eligible, and also elect to crossover into the Open division and compete in it as well. Competitors may not participate in more than one category (Bikini, Figure, Wellness, Physique, Bodybuilding, Classic Physique) at any given show.
The top 5 in every class will receive awards.
All competitors are required to hold current OCB memberships to participate in this event. If you need to obtain the annual membership, please register at least a week before the event. Memberships can be purchased on OCBonline.com.
This is a natural (drug-free) competition. All competitors must meet the eligibility criteria listed in the OCB drug testing guidelines to participate. Prior to registering, competitors should review the procedures and list of banned substances posted on OCBonline.com.
All competitors are required to be polygraph tested prior to competing. In addition, all pro qualifying placement winners and top 3 in each pro class are required to provide a urine specimen immediately after the conclusion of the event for urinalysis. (Remove reference to pro classes when not applicable)
All athletes are required to check in on Friday, October 9, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the host hotel. Drug screenings will be by appointment. The testing fee is $60, payable in cash only to the examiner. Fees are non-refundable. Please try to schedule drug screening appointments before any spray tanning appointments.
What to expect at event check-ins/drug screenings: Testing and check-in tasks will both be completed. Check-in tasks include distributing competitor number buttons and any advance tickets purchased, submitting photo order forms (if applicable), verifying paperwork, and completing any other necessary administrative tasks.
Due to the size of this event, all competitors will be introduced by name and number only to allow everyone an opportunity to participate in the individual presentations segment.
Bikini, Figure, Wellness, and Men’s Physique will perform their stage walks to house music. Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Women’s Physique may choose to pose to either house music or their own music, which must be provided to the promoter in MP3 format in advance. Stage walks and routines must not exceed 60 seconds.
